Indiana Orthopedic Institute
Building an advanced, fully integrated orthopedic surgery center
Background
Indiana Orthopedic Institute (IOI), founded and led by Dr. Michael Meneghini, set out to build one of the most technologically advanced orthopedic centers in the country. The new 38,000-square-foot flagship facility in Noblesville was designed as a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center and research hub, featuring multiple operating rooms, a dedicated orthopedic clinic, imaging, therapy services and a research gait lab.
IOI’s ambition was clear: create a greenfield ASC built on a fully integrated digital foundation — eliminating fragmented vendors, legacy systems and infrastructure inefficiencies from day one.

Approach
IOI selected hopper OS as the complete operating system to power the new facility. The full hopper platform was deployed, including the EMR Ecosystem, Microsoft Cloud Services, managed IT services, network design and hardware procurement. Rather than layering disconnected systems, IOI built a unified, cloud-based infrastructure engineered for performance, security and scalability.
All infrastructure was designed and implemented as a single connected ecosystem - consolidating vendors, standardizing workflows and ensuring seamless integration across clinical, operational and financial functions. With no implementation fees and a fully managed service model, IOI achieved rapid time to value while maintaining enterprise-grade resilience and cybersecurity protection.

Outcomes
The transformation delivered measurable operational improvements and immediate financial impact:
Optimised efficiency
Elevated patient care
Saving 20% just on up-front hardware cost
Saving 15% on ongoing technology vendor costs
By building on hopper OS from day one, Indiana Orthopedic Institute established a future-proof digital foundation. Enabling precision care delivery, operational excellence and long-term financial performance.
