Background

Orthopedic & Spine Centers of Wisconsin (OSCW) launched construction of a new ambulatory surgery center in Middleton to meet growing regional demand for musculoskeletal care. Designed to centralize care delivery, the new facility includes 20 exam rooms, four operating rooms, therapy services, advanced X-ray imaging and a motion analysis gait lab.

Rather than retrofit legacy systems into a new building, OSCW chose to modernize its entire operational infrastructure - aligning clinical workflows, security and support services before opening its doors.

Approach

OSCW implemented hopper OS as the connected operating foundation for the new center.

The deployment included the EMR Ecosystem, Microsoft Cloud Services, managed IT services, network design and hardware procurement - delivered as one coordinated platform. By consolidating vendors and standardizing digital workflows, OSCW avoided the fragmentation common in multi-site practices. Clinical documentation, imaging, scheduling and operational support were unified into a secure cloud-based infrastructure designed to reduce administrative burden and improve system-wide visibility.

The result was not simply a new building, but a modernized operating model built for coordinated care delivery.

Outcomes

The integrated platform positioned OSCW for long-term operational strength:

• Standardized digital workflows across clinical and surgical operations
• Improved coordination between clinic, surgery and therapy services
• Reduced vendor complexity and infrastructure risk
• Secure cloud environment supporting scalability and future expansion
• Enhanced patient throughput and operational predictability

By aligning infrastructure with its growth strategy, Orthopedic & Spine Centers of Wisconsin strengthened its ability to deliver high-quality orthopedic care at scale - supported by a connected, future-ready operating system.
